Baby Nets

FullSizeRender

Malawi is a malaria zone. Many young infants die of malaria each year.

Lodge Manager Donna has been in Malawi for over two years now and does not doubt how important mosquito nets are but she has also learnt that they can be misused (many fishermen use them to catch fish and villagers use to catch birds for their dinner).

One of Tongole’s staff showed a photo of his new born daughter and she was in a little baby net. This net not only protects the baby from Mosquito’s but also provides it with a bed area, all that is needed is a blanket inside. Donna enquired why many more people don’t have these and the reply was the expense. At MKW1, 500 each (£2.20)!

These nets will also prevent cholera during mango season.

So, would you like to donate just £2.20 so that we can buy more and help prevent young babies getting malaria & cholera? These will be distributed in the surrounding villages of the Nkhotakota Reserve.
